Postdoctoral Researcher in Resilient Cyber-Physical-Social Systems
About the Position:
The Netsys Research Lab at the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Oklahoma, in affiliation with the Data Science and Analytics Institute (DSAI) and the Data Institute for Societal Challenges (DISC) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position in the area of Resilient Cyber-Physical-Social Systems. This position is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual with a strong background in modeling and optimizing the resilience of complex systems, particularly those with applications in interdependent infrastructure and supply chain networks. The successful candidate will join the dynamic research team led by Dr. Andrés D. González, who specializes in developing innovative approaches to model and enhance the resilience of critical systems and communities.

Requirements Responsibilities:
  1. Research: Conduct cutting-edge research in the field of resilient cyber-physical-social systems, with a focus on developing mathematical models, optimization algorithms, and simulation techniques.
  2. Collaboration: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams within the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering, the Data Institute for Societal Challenges, and the Data Science and Analytics Institute. Foster connections with industry partners and contribute to ongoing research projects.
  3. Publication: Publish research findings in top-tier journals and present research at national and international conferences to contribute to the academic and research community.
  4. Mentoring: Work with graduate and undergraduate students, providing mentorship and guidance on research projects related to resilient systems.
  5. Proposal Writing: Assist in the development of grant proposals to secure external funding for research projects. Contribute to the growth and visibility of the laboratory.
  6. Teaching Opportunities: Depending on interest and department needs, there may be opportunities to contribute to teaching activities, including the development of new courses or the delivery of guest lectures.
  1. Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related field.
  2. Strong background in mathematical modeling, optimization, simulation, and/or data analytics.
  3. Experience in the resilience of cyber-physical-social systems, with a focus on interdependent infrastructure and supply chain networks.
  4. Proficient in programming languages commonly used in research, such as Python, MATLAB, or similar.
  5. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse multidisciplinary teams and disseminate research findings.
  6. Demonstrated track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at conferences.
